| Really enjoyed your article and all the deitails you have. I've been lucky enough to meet with a few of the drivers listed and believe this to be the best period in Canadian road racing history. Well Done! |

Wow! Great article. As the current owner of the Eppie Wietzes Championship 1969 Lola T-142 the accounts of each race were fascinating. A good friend owns the Le Grand MK 11 that Rex Ramsey drove to victory in the 1969 Trois Rivieres race. We hope to vintage race both cars in the near future.

Hi there,
Firstly thanks for the great article, I read it whilst trying to resarch the background to my latest car!
I've just bought an early "high wing" McLaren M10a that has been stored, uncared for, since the mid 70's. The guy I bought it from here in Northern California was a real racer campaigning in Can Am with a front engined special of his own design. He bought the McLaren after it had sat for years in storage after having had a crash which knocked off the suspension on one side. The car is virtually complete but needs an thorough resto unfortunately the Chassios plate is missing although it does have the original SCCA brass oval plate still attached to the rolbar. If anybody can help me to see if this was the Eaton/Heimrath car I would be very grateful, it would, of course, be an important piece of Canadian racing history. I will be restoring it thoroughly and intend to race the car again in all of its glory |

Greetings From Rex Ramsey on Oct. 23, 2005 About 36 years after I won this race at Trois Rivieres, Canada... In the Canadian Road Racing Championship.
What a great article. We won this race with a car that we hand built, even poured the wheels out of mag. and spun them to finish in Red Legrand's shop in the San Fernando Valley of L.A.
We built the chassis, headers, suspension, body and even did the porting on the 302 Chev. that we built out of used parts from James Garner's blown up Daytona Coupe Lola that we bought for $600.
We built the wing and the Airhart Brothers gave us the breaks. We took the car to the last Canadian L&M race, the first with this car, and it rained so hard that tires and wheels were floating down the pits.
Not ours, for we only had the money to build one set of wheels and we finished 9th. on slicks cause we could not afford rains and still make Trois Rivieres.
It was raining so hard that Sam Posy spun on the warme up lap into the mud and never made the first lap. He had rains, I was very careful that day, it was like driving on ice.
I actually learned a great deal from this fine article. Thanks
Rex A. Ramwsey

A message for Rex A. Ramsey from Austin Provisor:
I last saw you around 1968 and have wondered what you've been up to all these years. Racing a lot, eh?
I'd like to speak with you before this life is over. My email address is austinpro2001@yahoo.com and I'd really like to hear from you.
I'm not familiar with the workings of this website, but I hope you see this message, or perhaps someone who knows you will contact you in my behalf.

Try www. ten-tenths.com under the Historic Racing. You will have to join (no cost) to post. Under the chassis section there are a couple of posters who can help.
Bruce Jensen was 2nd at Edmonton in 74 in a March 74B and I think Bill Brack won in his Lotus 69B. |

Hi all
I was lucky enough to meet Al Pease, Peter Felder, Horst Kroll and Eppie Wietzes at the Mosport Vintage Racing Festival this past summer. It was an amazing honour! It was also an amazing moment!
I was there featuring my racing history artwork. My son took a great photo of these racers together. If anyone is interested in seeing the photo, just email me. I'd attach it here, but I don't think it's an option.
Cheers!
Paul
